Hello & Welcome!
I've had such a fun, creative month with Jaded Blossom as a guest design for the month of July. I'm so glad to have this opportunity to play with the new release which can now be viewed on the Jaded Blossom shop here.
For my final project this month I decided to play around with an older release stamp set: Diamond in the Rough and pair it up with Jaded Blossoms Star die. If you didn't know I have a 4 year old who loves quite a few Disney Princesses - so I may have been a little inspired by the movie Aladdin but mostly excited to colour and create my starry night background for this card.
I kept my background somewhat simple - I thought about using ink to blend in a sky background but though it might be too much with the blue and yellows. So using a dark blue card front I die cut some of the stars. I then adhered corrugated card or pattern paper to the back of the negative space and added some stitched outline details. I also die cut a few stars out using dark blue card and silver corrugated card. These were adhere with foam tape to give the card addition dimension and interest.
I coloured in the Genie and his Lamp. Fussy cut (or cut with an electronic machine: Silhouette Cameo) and adhered this to the card front.
Copic Markers Used:
Lamp: Y35/Y26/Y28
Genie: B000/B01/B02/B04/Y35/YG21/YG23/YG25
Finally I embellished the card with more die cut stars, star sequins and a twine bow. I adhered the card front to an A6 side folding card base.
I thought I'd accompany the card with a little treat using the Paper Bag die. Couldn't resist buying some Golden ROUGH chocolate and using the left over starts and coloured in stamp pieces.
