I need Kaspersky Internet Security for Windows XP SP2. What will I do for that?

S
Answer by Sean Hill

The latest version of Kaspersky Internet Security can be installed on a wide number of Windows versions and apparently Windows XP SP2 is still supported.

These are the system requirements for Windows OS:

  • Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition / Professional SP3 and later / Professional SP2 and later (64-bit)
Intel Pentium 1 Ghz or faster (or a compatible equivalent)
    512 MB available RAM
  • Microsoft Windows Vista Home Basic / Home Premium / Business / Ultimate SP1 or later (32/64-bit)
  • Microsoft Windows 7 Starter / Home Basic / Home Premium / Professional / Ultimate SP1 and later (32/64-bit)
  • Microsoft Windows 8 / Pro / Enterprise (32/64-bit)
  • Microsoft Windows 8.1 (Windows 8.1 Update) / Pro / Enterprise (32/64-bit)
  • Microsoft Windows 10 Home / Pro / Enterprise TH2 / RS1 / RS2 Preview (32/64-bit)
Intel Pentium 1 Ghz or faster (or a compatible equivalent)
    1 GB (32-bit) / 2 GB (64-bit) available RAM

To download a trial version of the software, access the application's page at Software Informer.

I just received notification that my automatic renewal just occurred. I purchased new laptop to replace my old one and the Bestbuy installed their own virus protection. I now have Windows 10. How can I download Kaspersky and get rid of the Best-buy?

R
Answer by Robert Polubinski

The protection installed by those guys can be easily removed from the Applications list in Windows. Simply go to Start and type Control Panel then click on the Uninstall a program. Locate the application installed and start its uninstaller. After this process, reboot the PC and download the version of Kaspersky that you want or based on your purchase and install it.

Here are the download links for Kaspersky: https://www.kaspersky.com/downloads

If you need the Internet Security, simply click it and download the trial, then use the license number to activate it.

Consider Kaspersky Security Center 10. There is an Automatic installation task created for the Kaspersky Network Agent in the Managed computers group. But you want to exclude one of the subgroups from automatic installation. Is this possible?

R
Answer by Robert Polubinski

Kasperky's Technical Support pages provide information about this on their website for the Security Center. I recommend you access the website to see exactly how the software needs to be configured. Use the menu on the left side to navigate through the available topics. This is the only thing I've found related to Group management, application deployment, and item exclusion.

I have a Kaspersky Internet Security software (Vietnam version). But I don't know the Vietnam language. How to change the language into English?

R
Answer by Robert Polubinski

You cannot change the language of the product if it's in Vietnamese. Kaspersky product can not change its interface language if it matches one of the languages that are not compatible with he Shift + F12 key combination. You need to download the package again in English language.

You cannot change the language of the interface for Kaspersky Antivirus and Internet Security (all versions). If you want a product in your language, visit the website and select your country from the Country Selector next to the Kaspersky logo on the official website.

Mozilla Firefox says "Kaspersky protection could not be verified for use in Firefox (Disabled)"

A
Answer by Alex Urbach

This happens when the extensions are not signed. Firefox doesn't allow installing extensions that aren't singed anymore. You will have to download latest version of Firefox and Kaspersky to update the current installations, then try installing the extensions as well. If it still doesn't work after this procedure, then you need to forward a complaint to Kaspersky support. They need to send the extension to Mozilla for signing and then you can install it.

Database is "EXTREMELY OUT OF DATE " but scanning to update stops at 98%. Please tell me how can I achieve a complete update?

A
Answer by Aiden McLeod

In this case, you should check if the system date is up to date. This could be a reason why this is happening. Also, you can try to go to Settings -> Update -> Update source -> Proxy server and uncheck proxy server option. After you did this, try to update it manually. This should fix your problem.

To disable the main module of Kaspersky Internet Security go to Settings > Self Defense > Uncheck Self Defense. After confirming the selection Kaspersky's main anti-malware module will be disabled. For more information, visit the official FAQ regarding this request.

Answer by Pete Clapp

Yes, you can use it again, but I recommend you to check the information provided by Kaspersky Lab in order to reinstall the operating system and not lose the license for your Kaspersky Internet Security.
