Logitech offers a hardware-driven way to make use of AI Logitech offers a hardware-driven way to make use of AI

If you’re outside creative industries, i.e., you don’t write texts or draw illustrations for living, all that fuss about generative AIs, which are in fact LLMs, or Large Language Models, may leave you wondering if you’re missing out on something. Microsoft’s Copilot, posts about which are not uncommon in this blog, is an attempt to get everyone on board with the new tech, letting regular users ask whatever they need and get answers as if from a real person. A success so far, this assistant is not the only approach to popularization of AI among the masses.

Logitech, one of the world’s leading hardware companies, has recently released Logi AI Prompt Builder, a tool that lets you assign a button on your Logitech mouse or keyboard to summon the interface that simplifies prompt engineering. It basically feels like compiling a program from preset blocks, and those blocks are under your full control, i.e., you can change them any way you need.

The landing page features some testimonials, the most useful of which is probably this one:

“It felt like having an assistant AI directly integrated in my computer, which helped me improve any of the actions or activities I wanted to do”

While obviously intended for the creative folk who do tap into the power of AI routinely, given the reach of Logitech, it would be safe to assume that this piece of software has the potential to extend the ranks of those who actually put LLMs to use. For example, ChatGPT, which is the AI of choice for Logitech, can help with email communications (authoring, checking, replying in an automated manner), and quickly convert units, and fetch various information, etc. Currently, routine tasks may feel too small to ask for AI’s assistance, but if this hardware/software pairing really turns querying it into a matter of a couple of clicks, things can change quickly.

Thus, in terms of productivity, AI can give you a boost, but it’s not a cure-all solution. There are numerous tasks that no LLM can handle so far. If you have something like that at hand, a chore you have to do manually, browse Informer’s productivity section, chances are, there’s something there to simplify and/or automate that task:
