RssBandit is an RSS news reader for Windows computers. There are many applications like this, but few offer so many features. The only reason why I would give up Google Reader for this one, is that RssBandit can synchronize completely with Google Reader, which not many readers can do. Like any other reader, RssBandit supports Podcasts, but unlike others, this bandit allows you to automatically download podcasts.
Graphically, the application is basic, but not plain. There are two main tabs. The one on the left holds your news categories and the one on the right is the one that displays your news. If the news article you are reading comes with images, those will be displayed in full size, or you can opt not to display them. You can also use RssBandit as a gateway to the net, since it has inbuilt search features. You can search using the most popular search engines from within the application. The results will often be opened in your internet browser. Almost everything can be customized with RssBandit. Now that it incorporates Google Reader synchronization, it could be a great alternative for those who need to read news offline.
