The email feature needs to use the SSL/TLS or STARTTLS encryption protocols and you have to enable them or configure the email service to allow connection from a third party application (eg. POP/IMAP settings in Gmail). I have set up email for my NVR as well and just tested it and it works.
Try switching to the Gmail service and enable the settings if you can't do it for your own account.
If you can't reach your camera from the web because IP wasn't set up correctly or you're behind a router. To assign IP, insert your CD and use the configuration menu to set the IP of your camera. At the end of the installation, it should look like: http://IP:80. To access the webcam on the web, make sure your IP is properly configured in the router's port forwarding section or simply access the camera if it's using a routable IP number.
