About I caught this dolphin and her calf coming up for air off the Island of Lanai while visiting Hawaii. Shooting dolphins, in this case Spinner dolphins, proved to be one of the biggest challenges I've faced so far. A large lens, a moving boat and extremely quick subjects made for a very difficult time capturing sharp images. All in all it was a great outing. More of my work can be seen at http://www.artbeacon.com/jmg-galleries/ if interested. Thanks for your time and comments.

Maui was great. The dolphin and whales are present during the winter. I know for sure the whales are and perhaps the dolphins year round. I took a trip with the Pacific Whale Foundation. I highly recommend them. Beware if on a boat if you look through a camera too long you'll get pretty sea sick. I can't wait to see your photos from your trip. Keep me posted.

How was Maui?? Im guessing you took a boat from there to Lanai? Nice shot! Ive been dreaming of the opportunity to get a nice shot of dolphins in their natural habitat. Will be going to Hawaii next month....maybe I will be fortunate as you were
