Beautiful nature view...but i don?t think the clouds fit really, for me it seems you added them in a layer in PS. But anyway it?s really dramatic!

Stunning view. Excellent exposure under difficult circumstances. I'm impressed there is not more motion blur since you were working with such a slow film.

Michael, this is really quite awe-inspiring. Where was this taken? Perfect lighting, although I can't see the rest of the foreground, I might have tried to improve on the composition by emphasizing more of the foreground...but the sky here really makes the image come alive.

Thanks for the kind compliment Steve, I'm trying to persuade Julien to send some of his pictures to Use Film - this is one of them - don't tell him. Regards - Mike

Imageopolis Featured Photo Critique Breathtaking, Michael!

You and Julian are my heros! :-) I just saw your amazing new "Masterclass" book this weekend; my 17-year-old son and I looked at it together at our local Barnes & Noble over coffee (for me) and latte (for him :-) We were both knocked out by the beautiful photos as well as their instructional value and the excellent accompanying text.

I've stared dropping hints about how nice it would be to get a copy of your book for Fathers' Day....

Thank you both for setting a great example for all of us, and thanks for sharing your photos with us on Usefilm.com

Best regards,
SteveR

Thanks Tim for your kind comments. I shot this before I had the digital camera but even now I'm still using film for some things, it has the edge in some situations compared to the 6 M camera I'm using but I think the time may come soon when I might consider switching completely. Mike

Another work from the master. I can think of no way in which this image could be improved. Absolutely every element is spot on. Bravo Michael! (Question - Why the Mamiya/Velvia and not digital in this case? Would digital have lost something here?)

this is a fantastic photo.
excellent colors, excellent dramatic sky.
I would be honored if it could see mine portfolio and gives to me to some judgment and some critic, therefore that I can improve my way to make photo.
