About This image (4658) was shot while camping on the river out near Index on 2 July 2006.

The scene here depicted shows clearly the butterflies plotting to take over the world.

This image has been cropped, auto-contrasted, resized, shrunk, and I added the matting.

Joann - Thank you.

Technically, nearly every photograph I have posted here is posted as-is. Only perhaps four of my shots have been manipulated (to date).

Mostly what you are seeing is my luxagraphic work, which involves camera motion or camera and subject motion, and which is done entirely in-camera. I am really good about including a detailed account of any digital manipulations in my Abouts for each shot.

But, as I said, I think I have four manipulated images out of the 146 currently posted here.

How interesting to find this amongst your portfolio selections! How did it avoid transformation into a fabulous show of electrified light and colour?
I really like butterflies, and so this image caught my eye right off. Thanks so much for posting it "as is"!

Essam - Not good concealment: good luck, lots and lots of it, and a little stealth. This was totally out in the open. I had to walk up to them among the sand and stone. They kept flying off when I was close enough to shoot with my whimpy 3x zoom. Anyway, here is an area shot so you can see what I had to work with.

Cropped and resized for your inspection.

to catch one butterfly is good luck!!!!
to catch two butterflys is good planning!!!!
to catch three butterflys is good plotting!!!!
to catch butterflys in action is good concealment ???

Grazie mille, Loris. Ho voluto un sfondo più bello, ma le farfalle non erano cooperati.

Ana - There were dozens of them in the wet sand near the river. I don't know why. If I had a better camera I could hace captured more together, but with my camera I had to get pretty close and it was harder to get them to stick around.

I chose the red border to emphasize the conspiritorial nature evoked in the title. Danger. Hahaha. The butterflies are out to get us.

James is it helped by PS?
it would be amazing if actualy they were so many toghether!
a critic to improve your aesthetic sence: the red frame gives a lousy look, try to see it without!( this was a sugestion due to your demand of help to grow)

Roger - At least with his dad I could comprehend why folks might want to believe in his fluff. With Jr. I am dumbfounded that more that half my nation chose an idjit for a leader. Twice. I throw up my hands. At least my state was with the other half.
