I usually experiment a little with different ways of framing my pictures but, most of the time, my final decision is governed as much by the restrictions imposed by the circumstances and the need to compromise as it is by pure aesthetics.
In this case my main concern was to eliminate the white sky and to make the concentrated area of yellow buttercups (?) and the overhanging foliage as dominant as possible in the frame without cropping it too tightly .

Mike, this great. Great color, great object... perfect angle of view. Considering you took this with 645 format... did you try to take this scene in vertical format... just curious...

What else can I say that hasn't already been said.
This is a GREAT photo. This is why I LOVE Velvia :-) Those colours are awesome.
Michael, a PERFECT shot to brighten up a DREARY winter's day (at least here in Toronto it is *smirk*)
Cheers, Dave

This is superb Michael. Just wonderful. I agree with Jamie about the summer warmth and the smell of the meadow. The green here is luscious to say the least. The scan and post was well handled with the yellows of the flowers and the green of the grass separated very well. This image is so well balanced and the handling of the illusion of depth is wonderful. Very nice job.

This image has a nice feel to it. I would crop the upper right corner as it does not add to the image.

Wonderful color is this image. Very nice, thanks, brightens an otherwise dreary winters day!

Wow...this is very nice and it has a wonderful, summer feel to it. Great capture.
I wonder if cropping the upper right corner would help this? I think you would lose too much of the tree trunk on the lower right.

I will have to agree with Jamie. You've done a terrific job here. Have you considered cropping about 10% of the right? I like it the way it is as well though...

Michael -- I love the detail. The trees and the yellow flowers going between them are perfect. I love how this image fades from warmth to cool as it receeds. Makes me yearn for a summer's day, the smell of wildflowers, and the sound of ciada in the trees. Nice! --Jamie
