My baby James is growing up way too fast. Today he turned 4 years old. We let him open his presents this morning before Brian went to work so he could play with his toys all day. We had everything put together and wrapped waiting for him in the living room. He was very excited.

His friend Sophie came to play with him this morning and we plan to go out for birthday pizza tonight. I think he’s having a wonderful day. Perhaps the fog will burn off and we can get some use out of his scooter!
We hiked with Brian’s parents to Abbott’s Lagoon and the beach and had a wonderful picnic and afternoon. The water was a little dirty and quit cold so the kids didn’t get a chance to go in, but still have fun walking the beach.
Poor daddy had both kids most of the time.
Where else do you have to wear a coat to the beach?
Talk about straggler. He had to stop and pick up every rock, every step of sand, every shell….
Wonderful day with wonderful company!

Brian and I hiked Mt. Wanda that is part of John Muir Historical Site in Martinez, CA. His parents were able to join us on our brisk uphill one mile hike. It was beautiful up there and of course happened to be on the hottest day of the year. For us any way.
