MOVIE REVIEW: The makers have delivered an outstanding film and splendidly narrated the story of the underdogs – the Indian cricket team and how they won the World Cup in 1983. Kabir Khan’s direction is excellent. This was a tough film to make and despite having so many characters in the film, he manages to justify each and every role.
The well-researched writing makes this movie a worthy watch. There are some moments that will leave you with pride, a smile, and moist-eyed. There was not much scope for songs but they are placed well and ‘Lehra Do’ will stay with you. The background score and cinematography are superb.
The role is tailor-made for Ranveer Singh, it was almost like watching Kapil Dev for 2 hrs & 30 mins. He delivers top-notch performance and once again he proves his versatility. He excels in every character he played on screen. Deepika is good in her small part. Pankaj Tripathi is a delight to watch. Each and every supporting actor has delivered a brilliant performance. The ones who stand out are Saqib Saleem as Mohinder Amarnath, Jiiva as K Srikkanth, Jatin Sarna as Yashpal Sharma, and Ammy Virk as Balwinder Sandhu.
