Morning Cake with Peanut Shell

- THE cake shopping list
- 1 3/4 cup wholewheat flour shopping list
- 3 tablespoons baking powder1 teaspoon ground allspice shopping list
- 1 teaspoon salt shopping list
- 8 tablespoons butter shopping list
- 1 cup chopped hazelnuts shopping list
- 2/3 cup mixed dried berries shopping list
- 3 table spoons honey shopping list
- 2/3 cup milk shopping list
- 2 eggs, well beat shopping list
- THE SHELL/frosting shopping list
- 1/2 cup peanut butter shopping list
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice shopping list
- 3 cups confectioners sugar shopping list
- 1/2 cup milk shopping list
How to make it
- Preheat the oven to 325. Brush a 6 inch baking pan with butter and set aside. Mix the flour, salt, baking powder & allspice in a bowl. Rub in the butter until it is the consistency of bread crumbs. Stir in the hazelnuts and dried mixed berries. Meanwhile, warm the honey over gentle heat until melted, remove from heat and stir in the egg and the milk then pour it into the flour and mix well. Pour into your buttered pan and bake for 1 hour 45min. Use the knife trick to see if it's ready at the end of that time.
- heat the peanut butter over low heat (i add a dash of vanilla extract at this point) so the consistency is slightly less viscous. Whisk the confectioners sugar, lemon juice, milk and peanut butter together in a bowl then pour over top of cake!!!
