How to make it

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees
  • whip softened butter with mixer and add honey and molasses while mixer is running
  • add eggs one at a time and mix well
  • mix in vanilla and milk
  • add whole wheat flour and salt, baking powder, and baking soda, blend well
  • add in oats and chocolate chips
  • I use granulated honey which can be bought at amazon or other specialty shops. If using regular honey you should let the dough stand for a couple of hours so that the oats can absorb some of the honey and thicken the dough. the quality of honey you use will show in your cookies. some honeys will have a after taste. if this is a concern for you then use a clover or orange blossom honey.
  • drop by spoonfuls onto cookie sheets and bake for 10 to 13 minutes
  • let cool on sheet for 2 minutes and move onto a cooling rack
