How to make it

  • Combine sugar, juice, vinegar and spices then bring to a boil and simmer 10 minutes.
  • Add fruit and heat thoroughly then remove to a flat dish.
  • Be sure fruit is covered with syrup and allow to stand overnight in refrigerator.

    My mother used to stew fruit from our trees every summer. This recipe is a way to zip up your basic canned peaches into much more tasty and interesting dessert. Imagine this with some ice cream or whipped cream. I rest my case!
