Chocolate Pecan Pound Cake

- 1/4 cup shortening shopping list
- 1 cup butter shopping list
- 3 cups granulated sugar shopping list
- 5 eggs shopping list
- 1 teaspoon vanilla shopping list
- 1/4 teaspoon salt shopping list
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder shopping list
- 5 tablespoons cocoa shopping list
- 3 cups flour shopping list
- 1 cup milk shopping list
- 1 cup chopped pecans shopping list
- Glaze: shopping list
- 2 cups powdered sugar shopping list
- 2 teaspoons water shopping list
- 1 teaspoon almond extract shopping list
How to make it
- Cream shortening, butter, sugar, eggs and vanilla then sift together salt, baking powder, cocoa and flour.
- Add alternately with milk then add nuts and bake at 325 for 1-1/2 hours.
- Cover after 10 minutes and cool completely before serving. Immediately before serving drizzle glaze over top.
- For glaze, combine all ingredients and whisk until smooth.
