Zydeco Green Beans Dated 1957

- 2-1/4 cups water shopping list
- 3/4 cup white vinegar shopping list
- 2 tablespoons sugar shopping list
- 1 tablespoon crushed mustard seeds shopping list
- 4 medium garlic cloves, thinly sliced shopping list
- 3 bay leaves shopping list
- 1-1/2 teaspoon salt shopping list
- 1-1/2 teaspoon Tabasco pepper sauce shopping list
- 1 pound trimmed green beans shopping list
How to make it
- In large saucepan stir water, vinegar, sugar, mustard, garlic, bay leaves, salt and Tabasco sauce.
- Bring to boil then reduce heat and cover then simmer 5 minutes.
- Add beans then cover and simmer 10 minutes until tender crisp.
- Arrange beans in shallow dish and cover completely with vinegar mixture.
- Cover and refrigerate overnight then serve cold.
