From swamphunter007 16 years agoIngredients
- 6 venison cube steaks {cut in half} shopping list
- 1/2 stick real butter shopping list
- 1 large vidalia onion {sliced & chopped} shopping list
- 1 Large green bell pepper {sliced & Chopped} shopping list
- 1 can of Campbell's Golden mushroom soup shopping list
- 2 Tablespoons steak seasoning shopping list
- 1/8 cup worcestershire sauce shopping list
- 1/4 cup boiling water shopping list
- 1 beef bouillon cube shopping list
- salt & pepper to taste {if needed} shopping list
How to make it
- On the stove, warm up a large skillet with 1/2 stick butter {non-stick skillet, if you got one} over medium-low heat. As butter is melting slowly in skillet {be careful not to burn butter}.
- Prepare meat, sprinkle both sides of cubed steak with Steak Seasoning {any Brand}. Rub steak seasoning in a little on both sides of meat, and set steaks in a glass bowl.
- Dissolve one beef bouillon cube in boiling water, add Worcestershire sauce, and mix well.
- Then pour bouillon cube & worcestershire sauce mixture over meat in bowl, rotating steaks around every so often to make sure the mixture gets on all of the steaks.
- Meanwhile, once butter has melted, add sliced & chopped Onion & Pepper and cook over medium heat until onion & pepper is soft and brown on the edges.
- Using a pair of tongs, or a straining spoon remove onion / pepper mixture out of skillet and set aside in bowl or on a plate.
- Now, add the cube steak to the remaining butter in skillet and brown on both sides, about 2-1/2 minutes on each side.
- Now slowly pour the remaining worcestershire / bouillon mixture over steaks in skillet, that was left in the bowl.
- Add the can of soup {no water} to the steaks in the skillet and stir well, turning steaks until soup is dissolved all the way to a smooth texture.
- Bring soup mixture & steaks to a boil.
- Add the Onion / Pepper mixture to skillet, folding and stirring well, turning steaks, and bring to another boil.
- Then cut on low and simmer until liquid thickens, about 2 or 5 minutes, makes a great gravy.
- Now, Cut off the heat, it it done, you can serve it over rice, or egg noodles, with mashed potatoes. and any vegetable, it is good!
