How to make it

  • Add water and salt to egg whites,set aside.
  • Combine flour and sugar.
  • Note:You will be sifting 5 times(guess this is the key to the recipe)
  • Sift together,then add cream of tartar.
  • Sift dry ingredients 5 times.
  • Beat egg white mixture until light and fluffy.
  • Gradually FOLD in vanilla and almond flavoring,alternating with dry ingredients.
  • Pour into large angel food cake pan.
  • Bake at 375 degrees for 25 minutes,turn off heat.
  • Leave in oven for 30 minutes or more.
  • Invert cake over a old empty soda bottle,and leave until cold,cut out of pan.
  • Note: will rise quite a bit.
