Salsa
From onedegree 17 years agoIngredients
- 3-4 Cups chopped tomatoes (Fresh from the garden are best!) shopping list
- 2-3 cloves of garlic shopping list
- 1/2 sweet onion shopping list
- 1/2 Yellow or Orange habanero pepper shopping list
- salt shopping list
- 1 lemon or lime shopping list
- Fresh cilantro shopping list
How to make it
- Chop the pepper as fine as you can. Wear gloves if you can. Be careful of the pithe, it is very hot. I take out all of the seeds & as much of the pithe as I can.
- Chop/dice the tomatoes. The acid from the tomatoes will help get the hottness off of your fingers.
- Mince the garlic & chop the onion.
- Add the juice of the lemon or lime and then taste. Add salt to taste. I prefer kosher or sea salt.
- Chop the cilantro & combine. Let sit for an hour or two before deciding to add any more pepper. The salsa will get hotter the longer it sits.
- Serve with tortilla chips.
