One Skillet Beef And Cabbage

- 2 lbs of ground beef (or your choice shopping list
- salt and pepper to taste shopping list
- 1 tsp creole seasoning shopping list
- 1 onion chopped shopping list
- 1 cup uncooked rice (I used farro) shopping list
- 4 large handfuls of chopped green cabbage shopping list
- 1 (8 oz) tomatoe sauce shopping list
- 2 cups water shopping list
- 1 tsp thyme shopping list
- 2 tsp paprika shopping list
- 1 tsp herb d'provence shopping list
- 3 tsp garlic powder shopping list
- 2 bay leaves shopping list
- dash red pepper flakes shopping list
- salt and pepper to taste again shopping list
- 14 oz fire roasted diced tomatoes shopping list
- 1 cup shredded colby cheese shopping list
How to make it
- 1. Saute beef till almost pink is gone, Drain.
- 2. Return to stove on medium high heat and add chopped onion.
- 3. Saute till onion is tender.
- 4. Add rice, cabbage, tomatoe sauce, water, diced tomatoes and seasonings.
- 5. Bring to boil, cover and then lower to medium low heat. Simmer 20-30 minutes till rice and cabbage are soft.
- DO NOT OPEN LID FOR FIRST 20 MINUTES SO RICE COOKS PROPERLY.
- 6. Add cheese and cook till melted
