Ingredients

How to make it

  • 1 Preheat the oven to 350°F.
  • 2 Finely mince the bacon, then combine all the ingredients for the meatballs (except oil) in a bowl and work together by hand until uniform. Form into meatballs of any size from walnut-sized to half pound.
  • 3 Sauté the meatballs in olive oil until browned on all sides. Remove to a plate as they finish.
  • 4 Crush the tomatoes with a potato masher until loose. Add broth, wine, bay leaf and a pinch of basil. Submerge the meatballs in the sauce along with accumulated juices from the pan.
  • 5 Cover and bake for 1 hr. Serve with Parmesan over cooked spaghetti.
  • Makes 8-30 meatballs, depending on size
