- Extra Virgin Olive Oil shopping list
- 3 anchovy fillets Optional but recommended shopping list
- 1 Can Italian Style Tuna Progresso or Cento if possible shopping list
- 2 Garlic cloves minced fine shopping list
- A splash of White Wine Sauvignon Blanc shopping list
- 1 28 Once Can Whole Plumb Tomatoes shopping list
- Red Pepper Flakes Optional shopping list
- Salt & black pepper shopping list
- 1 Tbsp Unsalted butter shopping list
- 1 Lb Spaghetti shopping list
- Fresh Parsley shopping list
- Grated cheese shopping list
How to make it
- Heat a skillet with enough oil to just cover the bottom. When the oil is hot add the anchovy and allow them to dissolve. If you are not using anchovy skip that step. Add the the garlic when you begin to smell the aroma of the garlic add the drained tuna and bring to a simmer . Add a touch of salt and black and red pepper to flavor.deglaze with the wine.
- Add the tomatoes raise the temp and bring to a boil then reduce to a simmer. Allow to cook about 30 minutes stirring occasionally. When stirring smash the tomatoes slightly a little at a time.
- Add 1 lb of slightly under cooked spaghetti or linguini to the skillet cook until you reach your desired texture.
- Put into a serving platter sprinkle with chopped parsley, grated cheese and serve.
