Crock-pot Applesauce
From moxie2burn 13 years agoIngredients
- 5 lbs apples, peeled, cored, and sliced shopping list
- juice of half a lemon shopping list
- 3/4 cup packed brown sugar shopping list
- 1/2 cup pure apple juice shopping list
How to make it
- Lightly spray crock with nonstick spray. Combine the apples and lemon juice in crock; mix in brown sugar. Pour apple juice over all.
- Cook on Low for 6 to 8 hours. Give it a good stir after six hours; depending upon the type of apple you used, the apples should easily stir down into a sauce or be well on their way (personally, we like it chunkier). Cook up to two additional hours until you've reached desired consistency. If you still want a smoother sauce, mash or use immersion blender to preference. If you want cinnamon applesauce, stir in 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon and continue cooking another 15-30 minutes.
