How to make it

  • 1. Heat oven to 350 degrees F. Butter bottom and sides of a 10 inch tube pan.
  • 2. Combine the cake mix, pudding mix, coffee granules, eggs, oil, 1/2 cup of the water and 1/2 cup of the coffee liqueur.
  • 3. Using electric mixer, beat at medium high speed for 3 minutes or until well blended.
  • 4. Sprinkle pecans in bottom of the prepared pan. Pour the batter into the pan. Bake for 45-50 minutes and about 5 minutes before end of baking time, make the glaze.

  • Combine remaining 1/4 cup water, butter and sugar in a small saucepan and bring to the boil and cook, stirring constantly for 2-3 minutes until sugar is dissolved. Then remove from heat and stir in remaining 1/4 cup cup coffee liqueur. Pour the glaze over the hot cake and cool in the pan for 30 minutes. Then turn out.
