macaroni cheese

- 500g macaroni shopping list
- 2 c grated colby or edam or tasty cheese shopping list
- 1 cup approx milk shopping list
- flour for thickening about 2 tablespoons shopping list
- salt shopping list
- pepper shopping list
- 1 tsp dried mustard shopping list
- 25g butter shopping list
How to make it
- melt butter in large saucepan
- remove pan from heat and mix in flour to smooth paste
- slowly add milk heating gently add milk and heat until sauce starts to thicken
- add salt, pepper and mustard
- add half the cheese and stir thru'
- gently cook the roue sauce for 10 min
- remove sauce from heat
- in large saucepan bring water to boil
- cook macaroni as per instructions on packet
- drain pasta and add to sauce
- place in a greased ovenproof dish
- spread grated cheese on top and breadcrumbs if desired
- bake in oven preheated to180 deg celc for 15 min
- place under grill until cheese topping goes golden brown
- serve immediately
- nice accompanied with a green salad
