Simply Savory Cube Steaks

- 1/4 cup flour shopping list
- 1/4 tsp salt shopping list
- 1/8 tsp pepper shopping list
- 2 5 oz. beef cube steaks shopping list
- 1/2 medium onion, sliced shopping list
- 1/2 sweet red bell pepper, cut in thin strips shopping list
- 1/4 cup ketchup shopping list
- 1/4 cup water shopping list
- 1 Tblsp cider vinegar shopping list
- 1 Tblsp worchestershire sauce shopping list
- 1/2 Tblsp brown sugar shopping list
- 1/4 teaspoon dry mustard shopping list
How to make it
- Saute onion and bell pepper in 1 tsp olive oil until slightly caramelized, remove from skillet and set aside.
- Combine flour, salt, and pepper and coat steaks with flour mixture. Heat an additional 2 tsp olive oil in the skillet and add the steaks; cook until browned, about 5 minutes.
- Mix ketchup, water, vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, and mustard and pour over steaks. Bring to a boil, then add reserved vegetables and reduce heat. Simmer until steaks are tender, about 30 minutes. Add more water if necessary.
