How to make it

  • Saute onion and bell pepper in 1 tsp olive oil until slightly caramelized, remove from skillet and set aside.
  • Combine flour, salt, and pepper and coat steaks with flour mixture. Heat an additional 2 tsp olive oil in the skillet and add the steaks; cook until browned, about 5 minutes.
  • Mix ketchup, water, vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, and mustard and pour over steaks. Bring to a boil, then add reserved vegetables and reduce heat. Simmer until steaks are tender, about 30 minutes. Add more water if necessary.

    Wow this is like the southern chicken fried steaks we make here in the south, but with a red gravy!!! Looks awesome! I will definitely give this one a try!
