Flatiron Steak Sandwich With Chipotle Mayo

- 1 (21/2 lb) flatiron steak shopping list
- 1 cup fat-free Italian dressing shopping list
- 1/4 cup reduced-sodium soy sauce shopping list
- salt shopping list
- ground black pepper shopping list
- 1 T ancho chili powder shopping list
- 1/2 cup reduced-fat mayo shopping list
- 1 chipotle pepper in adobo sauce(with a little of the sauce) chopped, or more if you like it spicier and more smoky shopping list
- 1 (16-ounce) loaf ciabatta bread shopping list
- Sliced mild cheese, optional shopping list
- 1 small red onion, thinly sliced shopping list
- 2 cups coarsely shredded lettuce shopping list
How to make it
- Place steak in a large sealable plastic bag
- Pour dressing and soy sauce over the steak and refrigerate at least 4 hours or overnight
- Preheat grill to medium-high or turn on the broiler
- Remove steak from marinade and discard marinade
- Season steak with salt and pepper and chili powder
- Grill steak about 7 to 8 minutes on each side for medium-rare or to desired doneness
- In a small bowl, mix together mayo and chopped chipotle pepper, adding a little of the adobo sauce
- Cut bread loaf in half lengthwise
- Spread cut sides of bread with mayo mixture
- Place steak on bottom of loaf, top with cheese, if using,onion and lettuce
- Close sandwich, cut into six pieces and serve immediately, or chill and serve cold
