I use this on all my pizzas. I'll add different ingredients, such as feta cheese or extra fennel before adding to the pizza for a twist.
Ingredients
- 1 small onion minced shopping list
- 2 tbs olive oil shopping list
- 1 15 oz canned whole or 1.5 pints fresh, peeled tomatoes shopping list
- 1 tsp sugar shopping list
- 1/2 tsp salt shopping list
- 2 -3 minced garlic cloves shopping list
- 5 fresh basil leaves minced shopping list
- 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper powder shopping list
- 1/4 tsp ground fennel shopping list
How to make it
- Saute onions in the olive oil until transparent. Add other ingredient and bring to a simmer. Cover and simmer for 30 minutes. Let sit overnight for flavors to marinade.
