How to make it

  • Brown the meat in batches in a hot pan
  • In a separate pan fry the finely diced onion in some oil
  • Add the garlic, green bell pepper, green chilli pepper (optional) and chorizo and cook for 3-4 minutes
  • Add the cumin, cinnamon, bay leaf, chilli powder, paprika, and oregano. Cook for 1-2 minutes
  • Add the meat, tinned tomatoes, beans, puree, and stock
  • Cover and cook on a medium heat for at least 60 minutes
  • Towards the end of cooking, check for seasoning and chilli heat. Add more chilli powder if necessary
  • Serve with rice

    This looks really good. For the Americans that would be about: 1 lb ground beef, 1/4 lb chorizo,2 (14 oz) cans diced tomatoes, and 1c broth. Thanks again for the recipe!
