Best Banana Bread

- In order of appearance: shopping list
- 1/2 cup of butter ( i use the 50/50 blend with olive oil) shopping list
- 1 cup brown sugar shopping list
- 3 eggs shopping list
- 1 tablespoon of vanilla extract shopping list
- 1/2 cup of milk shopping list
- 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda shopping list
- 2/3 tablespoon of fresh squeezed lemon juice shopping list
- 2 1/5 cups all-purpose flour shopping list
- 1/2 teaspoon of soda shopping list
- 2/3 teaspoon sea salt shopping list
- 4 tablespoons of cinnamon shopping list
- 2 tablespoons of nutmeg shopping list
- 2 cups of freshly mashed overly ripe bananas shopping list
How to make it
- Preheat the oven to 350'F
- cream together shortening and sugar
- add eggs and beat well
- add vanilla
- in a seperate small cup combine milk and first mention of baking soda and fresh lemon juice
- stir these ingredients together than add to shortening sugar egg mixture
- in a third bowl combine flour, 2nd mention of baking soda, sea salt, cinnamon and nutmeg
- add flour into cream mixture a lot at a time
- alternatively add mashed bananas, blending well after each addition
- keep chunks of banana
- pour into wellgreated 7X7-inch loaf pan
- bake for 45 minutes or until knife comes out of center clear (maybe a little mashed banana may show but if there is sugary cream mixture on the knife as well, then it isn't ready)
- yummmmm enjoy with green tea!
