May 19, 2020 4:27 PM UTC The problem with Classic Hangouts has been resolved. We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience and continued support.
May 19, 2020 4:17 PM UTC Classic Hangouts service has already been restored for some users, and we expect a resolution for all users in the near future. Please note this time frame is an estimate and may change. The affected users are able to access Classic Hangouts, but are seeing error messages, high latency, and/or other unexpected behavior.

The issue with Google Hangouts service has been resolved for the majority of users.

May 19, 2020 3:57 PM UTC Classic Hangouts service has already been restored for some users, and we expect a resolution for all users within the next 1 hour. Please note this time frame is an estimate and may change. The affected users are able to access Classic Hangouts, but are seeing error messages, high latency, and/or other unexpected behavior.
May 19, 2020 3:50 PM UTC We're aware of a problem with Classic Hangouts affecting a majority of users. We will provide an update by May 19, 2020, 4:50 PM UTC detailing when we expect to resolve the problem. Please note that this resolution time is an estimate and may change. The affected users are unable to access Classic Hangouts.
