Description:

The Google Groups user interface (UI) experienced issues with displaying member names globally for a duration of 5 hours and 56 minutes. From preliminary analysis, the root cause of the issue is a recent change in reading groups metadata. The issue was mitigated by rolling back the change.

Customer Impact:

The Groups UI displayed group names when attempting to list the member names.

The issue with Google Groups for Business has been resolved for all affected users as of Tuesday, 2023-09-19 10:43 US/Pacific.

We will publish an analysis of this incident once we have completed our internal investigation.

We are experiencing an issue with Google Groups. Groups member names are not displaying correctly.

Mitigation work is currently underway by our engineering team.

We do not have an ETA for mitigation at this point.
