About this audiobook

There was a new shop in town. Run by a stranger.

Needful Things, the sign said. The oddest name. A name that caused some gossip and speculation among the good folks of Castle Rock, Maine, while they waited for opening day.

Eleven-year-old Brian Rusk was the first customer and he got just what he wanted, a very rare 1956 Sandy Koufax baseball card. Signed. Cyndi Rose Martin was next. A Lalique vase. A perfect match for her living room decor.

Something for everyone. Something you really had to have. And always at a price you could just about afford. The cash price that is. Because there was another price. There always is when your heart's most secret, true desire is for sale . . .

Loved the book and movie which is why I didn't give it a one. King is one of my fave writers-- but a good narrator he ain't. It was so bad and cringe-y especially his reverend voice Dx I was able to finish the audiobook on low volume to dampen his nasally, whinny voice. Why couldn't you get another narrator like in the IT audiobook? And that annoying blaring music just jolts me awake. Not worth the $$$ so read the actual book or watch the movie. I finished it coz' it was expensive but my gosh---it was a painful experience! If you just bought this, please do not wear headphones/earphones lest you want your ears to bleed and sanity punctured!!

I've recently been really enjoying reading King's books. He's very hit and miss but usually always fun if nothing else. This audiobook however is dreadful. King doesn't make a good narrator and his hammy narration is interspersed by atrocious clown music that takes you right out of the story destroying what little atmosphere King 'crafts' with his campy vo. I really tried to get into it as it wasn't cheap but 7hours in - I'm out. It might be a good read but a no-no for the audiobook for me.
