I love the intrigue this game creates. Go to a bridge and learn you need a permit, ask for one and learn you need reputation, take on jobs to earn it and next thing you know you're on a revenge quest. That's just 1 example. These surprises kept me playing 20hrs in when the map was explored and the usual jobs got boring. The combat adds risk, but it's not the core of the game. I just wish I could pick move order/positions. The expansion is worth it. I love how your choices alter the map for good.

A fun non casual rouge like strategy game. The setting is somewhat unique for being very low fantasy. Each run is self-contained. The in games adds are annoying (I remember when the game didn't have them), but the paid version is so cheap that it is practically free. My only complaint is that the late game is unfair. There is no way to heal your party and in the late game you often get 3v6-7 or more fights that just kill you unceremoniously. Maybe a skill issue on my part but i doubt it XP.

Oldschool, not as simple as it may seem and a ton of fun if you have the patience. It has a lot of replayability as well because having different companions can yield different options in your decision making in quests or in the world in general. I really recommend it to those who are looking for a neat little game with those '90s aesthetics. The expansion is also worth buying since it adds cool content and unique items you heroes can use and it only costs 4 bucks. Happy hunting and exploring!
