About this app

Just Run is a simple workout app to help you get running. I made this app to get myself off the couch and start running to get to 5K. Stick to the workout plan, and you'll be able to run 5K in 9 weeks. It really does work!

If you're already able to run 5K, Just Run also has a 6-week plan to help you get up to 10K!

Workout Plans
- Zero to 5K: Gets you from absolute zero running experience to 5K in just 9 weeks, with three 30-minute workouts per week
- 5K to 10K: If you can already run 5K, or have finished Zero to 5K, this plan gets you to 10K in only 6 weeks

Features
šŸ“… Target dates for each workout, calculated based on your progress, and optimal exercise days
šŸ“£ Choose from multiple trainer voices, which tell you exactly when to run and walk
šŸ“± Lock screen notification so you don't need to unlock your phone to check your progress
šŸš« No ads! Ads are no fun, so Just Run has no ads!
šŸŽµ Works with music, audiobook and podcast apps - Just Run will briefly lower the volume of the other app when prompting you to run and walk, so you'll never miss a prompt
šŸ”½ Tiny download (less than 4MB), so Just Run will take up very little space on your device
āž• Upgrade to Premium to get more trainer voices, multiple theme options, and to support continued development of Just Run

I'd love to hear how you're getting on with Just Run. You can email me at run@jupli.com.

Just Run is the successor to Syncostyle's 5K Trainer and B210K Trainer. If you liked those, Just Run will feel very familiar!

Ok I'm three weeks in and feeling great. The program I'm running, "Zero to 5k" makes slow but steady gains, and it's paced well to let my body adjust. I can play my own music simultaneously to running the Just Run app and it's bug free. I like my "coach"'s voice and the friendly encouragement at the end of each run. I especially think it's cute to acknowledge each finished run by pushing the "I did it!" button after the run is logged, and the app rewards you with a little virtual confetti šŸŽ‰

A really simple effective app that I can use while listening to music. No excessive talking, just "start running", "start walking", and "turn around" at the halfway point. It's free with no ads. I can now run 7km. It builds up gradually. I agree with what someone else said: the lack of measurables like pace and distance is a strength - you set your own speed, you always feel like you're moving forward and don't beat yourself up, which helps you get out there consistently - I love it!

I've tried a couple of similar apps that are apparently more popular but this is the best. It doesn't bother me with ads, it doesn't want me to upgrade all the time, it doesn't constantly want to know my location, it doesn't want me to join a "community" and it works perfectly with either of the 3 music or audiobook apps I generally use while running. It does what it says it does and it ticks all the boxes - 5 stars, thanks.

What's new

I'm very excited to announce Just Run 3.0!

The timer code has been rewritten from scratch to make the app use less battery, while also being more reliable in the background on new Android versions. The notification is no longer integral to keeping the timer running, so I've moved it Feature Preview to decide if it should remain in the app.

This work wouldn't have been possible without Premium purchases, which meant I could take time off from my day job. Thank you all so much! - Gary
