How to play the backgammon game
- Classic backgammon is a logic puzzle for two, played on a board of 24 triangles. These triangles are called points.
- Each player sits on the opposite sides of the board with 15 checkers, black or white.
- To start the game, players take turns and roll the dice. That’s why free backgammon is often called a dice game.
- Players move pieces based on the numbers rolled. For example, if you roll 2 and 5, you can move one piece 2 points and another one 5 points. Alternatively, you can move one piece 7 points.
- Once all of a player’s pieces are in his or her “home”, that player may begin removing pieces off of the backgammon board.
- A player wins once all of their pieces are removed from the board
A few more things to know about this free Backgammon game
- Rolling two of the same number allows you to move 4 times. For example, for a roll of 4 and 4, you can move a total of 16 points, although each piece must move 4 points at a time.
- You cannot move a piece to a point that is occupied by 2 or more of your opponent’s pieces while playing a backgammon game.
- If you move a piece to a point with only 1 of your opponent’s pieces on it, the rival’s piece is removed from the board and placed on the middle partition.

There is no way that the randomization works here. The app itself is fine. The computer is far too lucky. Doubles in the exact most critical moment, perfect rolls and more. You've done well with the app but a program will do exactly what it's programmed to do unless it can think for itself (true AI). That means the random command is still a pattern and can be exploited. There are also too many coincidences in this game. Add a competitive person to person element and allow single games.

Used to love this game! I was briefly excited about the new ability to play based on your earned "experiece" level. But after earning the "expert" level it is clear that the game's idea of playing as an "expert" opponent is simply rigged dice rolls. Period. Every. Single. Roll. Literally 99 percent of the games at that level, the computer opponent gets the perfect roll combination to set up their pieces to fully block their "home" thus paralyzing their human opponent. Nice-NOT. Do better.

Hi, thank you for your comment! We're sorry to hear that you think the app cheats. We want to clarify that the dice rolls are random and determined by a random number generator. While it may seem like the bot gets "perfect" rolls, it actually uses probability distributions to make tactically advantageous moves.

The visual design is good, and it's easy to use. The reason I gave it three stars , which I believe it is designed to have the computer win most of the time. The computer rolls a very disproportionate number of doubles, especially high numbers when it is behind, while the player rolls a lot of ones and twos.
