The new FMD network is beyond disappointing. The rollout too slow, the default privacy settings strip essential functionality and pretty much kill the utility, and overall this network is absolutely useless. I have a pair of Pebblebee tags and the network usually is unable to locate them, and I live in a capital city. Google has had YEARS to sort this, how did they still fumble so badly?

WAY WORSE than existing tracker apps. No signal strength indicator, so impossible to narrow down where a tracker is. Worse yet, it doesn't even properly keep track of them! I can ring them, but not see if they're in range. Location updates happen only a few times/day, even when I click the refresh button. Marketed as an AirTag network alternative, but no. Other Android owners must opt-in to detect lost tracker locations "everywhere", effectively limiting the global network to only busy areas.

Only works with phone. Does NOT work with Pixel buds. With all location services and history enabled, it still gives a message saying "turn on location services". Very disappointing... Update- Jun 29/24. The issue still persists, all connected devices show location and location history off (location history is now timeline). All location services are on. This is an issue with the new Timeline integration for some users. Google is looking into it but so far has been no help what so ever.
