LucasArts gave gaming journalists a bit of hands-on time with Star Wars: The Force Unleashed II at Gamescom, and according to one report, a tweaked version of that demo will be available to the public before the game ships.
An unnamed LucasArts representative told Joystiq the demo will put gamers in Starkiller's shoes as he attempts to Force push and Jedi mind trick his way out of the cloning facility on the storm-battered water world of Kamino.
Though specifics weren't provided about the demo's platform(s) or release date, Joystiq did report that it "won't be too long of a wait" before it's available.
Star Wars: The Force Unleashed II is set to ship on October 26 for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Nintendo Wii and Windows PCs.
Sharkey says: I'm glad LucasArts is providing a demo. The original game's controls, in particular its targeting mechanic, were clumsy and annoying, so much so I'm hesitant to purchase the sequel. I'm hoping LucasArts takes a page from Ubisoft's book (Assassin's Creed 1 to 2) and listens to fan feedback to make some major improvements. The demo should be a good barometer.
