It's a big day tomorrow for fans of Rock Band and Guns N' Roses. The band's latest album -- Chinese Democracy -- will officially go on sale via the Rock Band Store on April 14th for Xbox 360 and Nintendo Wii and on April 16th for PlayStation 3. Users can pay using their points and grab the album either as individual tracks or in full at their console's online destination.

The official NPD Group sales figures indicate that Harmonix's Rock Band franchise has now enjoyed North American retail sales of over $1 billion. This astounding figure comes in 15 months after Rock Band first launched in the U.S. The report also details that over 40 million paid songs have been downloaded by users of the franchise, and that there are now over 600 songs available in the Rock Band catalog. Harmonix and MTV Games announced today the addition of seven new tracks to the Rock Band Music Store catalog of downloadable content. This week's diverse lineup includes the hit single "Dammit" from punk band Blink-182, which joins "All the Small Things" as their second track in the Rock Band library of downloadable content.
