Mass Effect 2 Guide

by Colin Moriarty

It's here. Just over two years after BioWare's original space-RPG epic hit the Xbox 360, its much-anticipated sequel has finally arrived. A much darker, more serious affair than the first title, Mass Effect 2 is a western-RPG with so many paths through the game, you'll need a walkthrough just to comprehend it all. And that's where we come in. Our gigantic walkthrough is rounded out by a robust basics section, coverage on all side quests, and even the game's entire codex, for all of you nerds out there.

It's time to save the galaxy!... again.

Inside this Mass Effect 2 guide...

» Mass Effect 2 Basics (Classes, Fundamentals, Advanced Tactics, etc.)

» Mass Effect 2 Walkthrough (All main quests, loyalty missions, et al.)

» Mass Effect 2 Side Quests (N7 quests, primary side quests, et al.)

» Q: How do I romance [any character]?
A: Why, you go to the Relationships section of the guide, of course! Within, you will find general tips on both conducting both friendly and romantic relationships, and if you follow the link at the top of that section, you will be brought to an FAQ with specific information on romancing each eligible character in the game.
» Q: How do I earn [this] Achievement?
A: Consult the Achievements section of this guide. There, you will find information on each and every Achievement in the game and how to get it. If you need even more in-depth information, you'll find a link to a GameSpy Achievement Guide that blows the lid off of each Achievement in the game.
» Q: What planets, specifically, contain Element Zero?
A: Element Zero is, by far, the rarest of the four types of metals you'll be mining for on planets. While you don't actually need a great deal of it to upgrade whatever you'd like (you won't be using nearly as much of it as Iridium, Platinum and Palladium), some gamers still want to find as much of it as humanly possible. Thankfully, if you head to IGN Cheats, you'll find a complete list of all of the planets that contain Element Zero. Nice!
