After years of development and a ton of hype, the first official trailer for Rockstar Games and Team Bondi's digital detective drama, L.A. Noire, is here. And we're giddy knowing the video you're about to see is in-game footage and not a pre-rendered cinematic. Get ready to hit "Play" again.

Mad Men fans will recognize Ken Cosgrove, aka actor Aaron Staton, lending his likeness and voice to L.A. Noire's protagonist, Detective Cole Phelps. There are a bunch of other faces in here that look very familiar and amazingly lifelike thanks to the game's touted facial animation technology, but we'll let you figure them out on your own:



L.A. Noire is being developed for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, and as the trailer reveals, it's set to ship in spring 2011.


Sharkey says: I'd type a lengthy, gushing comment, but I can't stop watching the trailer. 2K and Rockstar weren't kidding when they said this title would be ground-breaking. Here's to hoping it plays as amazing as it looks.
