Praise be to the gods, the Roadie Run has been refined. Also, Achievement hunters can look forward to another 250 points worth of ovular icons on the bottom of their screens. Later today, Epic will release another patch for the award-winning Gears of War that will adjust many gameplay elements.

Among the fixes that Gears owners will see starting at 9PM EST/6PM PST today, the Roadie Run will be improved to reduce the chances of taking shots while bolting for cover. However, the majority deal with multiplayer fixes, especially with bugs and exploits in Annex mode. The Lancer will also do more damage from a distance than before. Thankfully, there's now a cap on bleed-out times in Annex, so you won't spend two minutes bleeding to death when you've been downed. Corpses will also disappear faster during Annex, which means less mortal coils left strewn on the map.

Achievement highlights include "THIS! IS! ANNEX!" in which you'll get 40 points for playing a hundred 3+ round matches of Annex while capturing three objectives. There are also rewards for those who dropped the $10 on the new map packs. "You Down With E.P.I.C?" gives you 30 for winning a 3+ round match on six different downloadable maps. You'll also have 30 point Achievements for winning twenty matches of 3+ rounds on the pay-for-play maps, such as Subway, Garden, and Bullet Marsh.
