We love Cliffy B and his cohorts for bringing us Gears of War. They reciprocated that love by giving us two free new maps back in January. Raven Down and Old Bones were fantastic, but more was on the way. Last month we received a brand new play mode called Annex. We saw it, we tried it, we loved it. Now, just as our cups of gaming bliss are overflowing we are told that yet another map pack is on the way.

This Thursday, May 3, a map pack titled Hidden Fronts will be made ready for download on Xbox Live. It will contain four new multiplayer maps. The first is titled Bullet Marsh. This devious map takes place in a swamp infested with those razorblades on wings known as Kryll. Fortunately, the area is lit by a generator. Unfortunately, the generator is old and can be easily knocked out, which can make staying alive a difficult endeavor for anyone caught in the dark.

This undeground Imulsion factory probably doesn't meet Federal worker safety standards.

The next map is called Garden. It features a greenhouse with a working pesticide system. Unlucky players will most likely find out that insect poison is also people poison. Process is a map that takes place in an active underground Imulsion plant. The final map, Subway, is set in Timgad's Central Subway station. It's a subway hub with plenty of tunnels to hide ugly Locusts.

Hidden Fronts will be the first map pack for GoW that isn't free; at least, not at first. If you want the maps as soon as they're released you'll have to pay 800 Microsoft Points. If you think you can hold off, the new maps will become free to download on September 3, 2007.
