Microsoft Game Studios and BBC Worldwide have teamed up for a long-term collaboration that will unite Turn 10 studio's racer, Forza Motorsport, and UK TV chart-topping car review program, Top Gear. The collaboration kicks off this month with Forza Motorsport 3 Ultimate Collection.

"Bringing together Top Gear and Forza Motorsport is a natural fit," Dan Greenawalt, franchise director at Turn 10, the studio within Microsoft Game Studios that created the Forza Motorsport franchise, said in a statement. "Top Gear is all about automotive passion and playing around with cars which is exactly what we deliver with Forza Motorsport games."

Forza Motorsport 3 Ultimate Collection packs in the complete racing game, including all DLC add-ons, bringing the total car count to 500 with more than 100 track configurations. The collection will also include the Top Gear DLC, featuring 90-minutes of the show's patented car hijinx, and an Xbox Live Theme based on Top Gear.

"It's incredibly exciting to be teaming up with such a big name game," said Andy Wilman, creative director at Top Gear. "I fear we'll have to be a bit more ambitious and a bit less rubbish when dealing with these chaps."

The Forza Motorsport 3 Ultimate Collection is set for North American release on October 26, followed by the UK and Germany on October 29, and Japan on November 11.

Sharkey says: In a past life I worked for a company that was owned and operated by Brits, and they were all absolutely bonkers for Top Gear -- that and "footy." If you're a car lover, it's evidently a great show, and this partnership seems like the perfect fit.
