Forza Motorsport 4 will likely include optional air steering wheel Kinect controls, a leaked marketing survey reveals, and the digital garage will be filled with more than 500 cars when the racer launches later this year.

Kotaku got its hands on the marketing survey from Microsoft, which asks for opinions about statements regarding Forza Motorsport 4. One such statement appears to detail some of the game's Kinect features.

"By using Kinect for Xbox 360, racing fans can now use head tracking to peer into a corner or their voice to control the game menus and interface. For more casual players you can enjoy sitting or standing controller free and racing alongside your friends, simply by holding your hands at 10 and 2."

In December, developer Turn 10 Studios attempted to clarify rumors about Forza 4's Kinect controls, stating that the racing component of the game would use the standard 360 controller, while Kinect would be used to explore the cars inside and out.

Though nothing has been officially announced by Turn 10 or Microsoft, it appears the Kinect steering will be available in the game's casual mode only.

The leaked document also revealed Forza 4 will feature more than 500 cars from 80 different manufacturers and a graphic fidelity "10 times better than the previous version."

Forza Motorsport 4 is an Xbox 360 exclusive. The game is set to launch sometime this fall.

Sharkey says: The concept of being able to control a driving game using Kinect looks good on paper, but actually playing it with the motion sensor raises a number of questions, namely how do you gas, brake, and shift? Where Kinect does appear to be a great fit for Forza is with head tracking, which should be a strong addition in conjunction with standard and steering wheel controllers.
