Beginning on Tuesday, January 25, the Crysis 2 multiplayer demo will be available for download exclusively on the Xbox 360, featuring two game modes on a single map. Get a sneak peek at the six-on-six action below:
"Crysis 2 offers a fresh, new take on multiplayer -- one that will stand out and establish the game as a top contender in the first person shooter genre," Crytek CEO Cevat Yerli said in a statement. "The Nanosuit gives gamers a sense of power they have yet to experience in any other shooter and having New York City as a backdrop will present a different type of playground with even more possibilities."
The demo will feature the Skyline map and two game modes: Team Instant Action and Crash Site. Team Instant Action is Crysis 2's take on Team Deathmatch, with players earning higher ranks the more enemies they kill. In Crash Site, players will battle for control of alien drop pods, earning points by guarding their pods and keeping enemies at bay.
Crysis 2 is being developed for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and Windows PCs. The game is set to ship on March 22 in North America and March 25 in Europe.
Sharkey says: Sorry, PS3 and PC gamers. Crysis 2 is looking great, but everyone should get the opportunity to demo the shooter on their system before laying down $60 for the full game. Score one for Microsoft.
