The Game Developers Conference saw EA's COO John Schappert briefly address the recent trials and tribulations of ex-Infinity Ward's Jason West and Vince Zampella. In a speech made yesterday, Schappert aired his disappointment at the ugly situation which arose when Activision fired the two studio heads over accusations of insubordination. VG247 has the scoop.
"I'm disappointed because I think Jason and Vince, on the human side, are two great guys. I know them personally, they've done great things. And I think they're two of the best creative leaders in our space.

"I hope that they find a way to continue to make games and focus on that during this period."
While the two former developers are currently waist-deep in legal wranglings with their former employer, it remains to be seen if and when they will start making games once again.

You can't see it, but Ghost is crying on the inside.

Bryn says: I wonder if EA is thinking about making West and Zampella an offer they can't refuse? It's clear that EA has a great FPS outlet in DICE (see Battlefield: Bad Company 2 for further evidence) and that it's working on its new Medal of Honor reboot, but imagine the madness if the two ex-IW blokes joined up with EA. Unlikely, but still not beyond the realms of possibility...
