It's only days until the worldwide release of Infinity Ward's Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. In case you are one of the few Call of Duty 4 players on the planet who hasn't already picked up the DLC Variety Map Pack, today is your lucky day. Word comes in that both the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions of the DLC are now on sale for half the original price, for a limited time only.
The Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare Variety Map Pack is on sale in North America beginning today:

Xbox 360: 400 MSFT Points (11/2, 9am/PT – 11/9, 9am/PT) *Part of the Deal of the Week program. Discount only applies to LIVE Gold Members.
PS3: $4.99 (11/2, 9am/EST through 11/8, midnight/EST)
The pack contains four maps: Broadcast, Creek, Chinatown and Killhouse. There's a double-XP weekend on both consoles too, which kicks off 11/6 at 3 p.m. and runs until midnight, 11/8.

Up a Creek without a paddle.

Bryn says: Creek remains my all-time favorite map in Call of Duty 4 (closely followed by Pipeline). I'm switching things up this time though -- instead of religiously playing Modern Warfare 2 on my Xbox 360, I'm going to opt for the PC version. Despite all the current unrest in the forums regarding the dedicated server issue, I think it's time I experienced the game from the PC's point of view. I can't wait.
