DICE put an end to the speculation this morning, finally announcing that the Battlefield 3 multiplayer beta will begin on September 29 on Windows PCs, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3, with players going to war on the Operation Metro map in Rush mode. And if you pre-ordered the game on Origin, you'll be getting in on the action early.

As the Internet percolated with rumors regarding the Battlefield 3 beta launch date this morning, DICE and EA decided to finally provide fans with the info they've been looking for. Those who purchased last year's Limited Edition of Medal of Honor or pre-ordered Battlefield 3 on EA's new digital distribution platform, Origin, will gain access to the beta on Tuesday, September 27. The multiplayer test run will then open to all on Thursday, September 29. Get a glimpse at what you'll be playing below:



DICE also confirmed that players in the beta will be able to log onto the franchise's new social network, Battlelog, allowing them to find friends, track stats, and share their progress.
