Ubisoft tweeted today that its second batch of DLC for Assassin's Creed II, Bonfire of the Vanities, will be available on Thursday, February 18 on the PlayStation Network and Xbox Live. The downloadable content will open up a new section of Florence and give Ezio a new way to parkour around renaissance Italy, "spring jump."

Bonfire will continue the narrative introduced in the first Assassin's Creed II DLC, the Battle of Forli. Ezio will be given 10 new missions spread across Florence and will once again team up with The Prince himself, Niccolo Machiavelli, to take down the mad monk Savonarola.

As reported by Kotaku and discovered by more than two million gamers at this point, the DLC Ubisoft is offering is actually material that wasn't finished in time for the November release of the game. The Battle of Forli and Bonfire are the "missing" 12th and 13th chapters of the 14-chapter game. For those who haven't played the game yet, downloading the two DLC packs will enable a complete, 14-chapter playthrough of the game.

Sharkey says: Spring jump? Strange that Ubisoft would introduce a new ability via DLC in what was supposed to be the second-to-last chapter of the game. Is this an ability that could open up parts of the city in earlier chapters?
